A Sweet Reunion - Joanna & FamilyJanuary 8, 2017
Reunions are a wonderful thing, whether they’re with friends or family, a reunion always invokes a lot of excitement. There’s so much to catch up on and so much to reminisce!
When Joanna got in touch with me, she told me she and her sisters were seeing each other after a long time, but what was special was that they were all together with their kids. Given that they were travelling from different countries, this was truly a, “once in a blue moon” type of occasion. So, understandably Joanna wanted to make the most of this opportunity and preserve memories of this reunion with some good photographs.
A quick call with Joanna revealed that she and her three sisters along with the four kids were all planning to go apple picking at Linvilla Orchards in upstate Pennsylvania. Since I had never been to this place, I looked it up online and immediately started putting together some ideas for the shoot. I also checked the weather to see what to expect, the forecast was sunny with light clouds, perfect!
On the day of the shoot we all arrived at the orchard at 11am sharp, I was meeting Joanna and her family for the first time, I just couldn’t get over how adorable the kids were! As I spoke to the children and made introductions with everyone, I took out my camera and started taking photos immediately, I didn’t want to miss a single moment! The rest of the afternoon with this family was one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever had. Joanna and her family are some of the warmest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. To be honest, it felt like I’d come to this orchard, made new friends and I was now apple picking with them. Don’t worry, I didn’t forget to take photos while I was having so much fun! :-P
I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the way this shoot went and I was even happier when I learnt how much Joanna and her family loved the photos. I really look forward to having more opportunities in the future to photograph this beautiful family. Thanks Joanna!
